Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using EthioFit (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

You must be at least 13 years old to use EthioFit.

2. The Service

EthioFit provides:

  • Workout logging and tracking (strength, cardio, flexibility, sports, and more)
  • Custom routine creation and scheduling
  • Nutrition and health metric logging (weight, water, calories, sleep, mood, steps)
  • Integration with Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect
  • AI-powered fitness coaching via conversational chat
  • Guided fitness classes with video instruction
  • Goal setting and progress tracking with achievements and streaks
  • Push notifications for reminders and milestones

3. Your Account

  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password
  • You must not share your account credentials with others
  • One account per person
  • You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. Health and Fitness Disclaimer

EthioFit is not a medical device or service. The App provides fitness tracking tools and AI-generated coaching for informational and motivational purposes only.

  • Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new exercise or nutrition program
  • Do not disregard professional medical advice based on information from EthioFit
  • If you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort during exercise, stop immediately and seek medical attention
  • Calorie counts, nutrition data, and fitness metrics are estimates and may not be fully accurate
  • You use EthioFit and follow any suggestions at your own risk

5. AI Coaching Disclaimer

  • Our AI coach provides general fitness guidance, not professional medical or certified personal training advice
  • AI responses are generated by machine learning models and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate suggestions
  • The AI coach does not have access to your complete medical history and cannot account for all individual health conditions
  • AI coaching should supplement, not replace, guidance from certified fitness professionals
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or appropriateness of AI-generated advice for your specific situation

6. User Content

  • You retain ownership of all content you create (workout logs, routines, notes, photos, messages)
  • By using EthioFit, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service
  • You are responsible for the content you upload (photos, notes) — do not upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • We may remove content that violates these Terms

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to harvest data from the service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Use the service to transmit malware or harmful code
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the service without permission

8. Third-Party Integrations

  • Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect integrations are governed by Apple's and Google's respective terms and privacy policies
  • Video content is streamed via third-party infrastructure subject to its own terms of service
  • You are responsible for reviewing the terms of any third-party service you connect to EthioFit

9. Intellectual Property

  • EthioFit, its logo, design, and branding are owned by EthioFit
  • The exercise library, guided class content, and AI coaching system are proprietary
  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without written permission
  • Open-source components used in the App are subject to their respective licenses

10. Subscription and Payments

  • EthioFit is currently free to use
  • We may introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future
  • If paid features are introduced, pricing and billing terms will be communicated in advance
  • You will not be charged without your explicit consent

11. Service Availability

  • We strive to keep EthioFit available 24/7, but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability
  • We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice

12. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the App or by contacting us at support@ethiofit.com
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms
  • Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately
  • Data deletion upon account termination is governed by our Privacy Policy

13. Limitation of Liability

  • EthioFit is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, EthioFit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $0 if using the free service)
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability — in such cases, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EthioFit and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the service.

15. Changes to Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time
  • Significant changes will be communicated via the App or email
  • Your continued use of EthioFit after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms
  • If you disagree with updated Terms, you should stop using the service and delete your account

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of EthioFit shall be resolved in the courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
